Dr. Dean Trubschenck was born and raised in Sacramento, California. He has one sister who is also in the healthcare field who practices as a PA for a Dermatology office in LA. His father is currently a general dentist who still practices in Sacramento.
Following his high school graduation, Dr. Dean spent two years as a missionary in Monterrey Mexico where he became a fluent speaker of the Spanish language and enjoys using his language skills in his profession as a dentist. It was while serving in Mexico, Dr. Dean discovered his passion within the healthcare field, especially dentistry, when he would help give aid along with different doctors and dentists who would come down to do humanitarian service and has thus far given service in various homeless shelters, aided veterans, and given aid to those in Fiji and Mexico.
Upon completion of his missionary endeavor, Dr. Dean attended Brigham Young University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology with a minor in Spanish. He then moved to San Francisco to pursue and receive his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, in which he completed in 2017. Dr. Dean has practiced in Austin, Texas where his wife had grown up and has enjoyed connecting with the city in the short amount of time they were there.
Recently, Dr. Dean’s wife got into the RISD graduate program for furniture design and thus moved to Providence while she is furthering her education. Dr. Dean enjoys spending time with his wife, playing recreational soccer with the local community and tennis.
